About Me
![]()
I had an automobile accident on December 3rd, 1997 which left me paralyzed from the shoulder down. I am a C-5 quadroplegic. I spent 4 months in the hospital and due to complications, received seven operations.
Even though I had come to know Christ 6 years prior to the accident, during those 4 agonizing months in the hospital, I struggled with the question “where is God?” But for a long time there was only silence. One morning I saw an image of Christ carrying me in his arms and at that moment, I understood that throughout the whole journey God had indeed been carrying me.
It is the unconditional love of Christ manifested through other Christians which sustains me every day. I realize that a lot has been taken away from me, but God has given me much more in return, such as a greater depth of compassion, love, sympathy, and appreciation for what really matters in life. The Lord has worked within me to enable me to accept it and to gain a desire to go on. I am content despite my circumstances and possess the peace and joy which surpasses all human understanding. This is Christ’s promise to his followers and it can be yours no matter what your circumstances, if you are willing to accept his invitation into your heart.
Two and half years have gone by since my accident. Now, I spend most of my time painting, writing, reading or working on my computer. I began painting shortly after my recovery using a special hand brace with my left hand. I was right handed prior to the accident but my right hand is weaker now. My art is an expression of hope and the unconditional love that Christ offers. I consider it a gift from God because I neither had this talent prior to the accident, nor have I had any training in this area.
I hope to be able to share my faith through my art and writing with the many Farsi speaking people in the U.S. and abroad and to help those who are in need of hope and the unconditional love that Christ offers.
Through this experience, I know the Lord can use me in ways that may have been impossible before and I have learned that His grace is sufficient for me.
