Results vary, and not everyone experiences success, but when there are problems, our Help-Line can often make the difference.
I had heard about Feingold from a
friend who put her two girls on it. She said that Feingold
made them less grumpy. Grumpiness was not my problem. My problem was my 7-year-old who would fly into a
rage over nothing. More . . .
were having so much trouble with
Aurelia's behavior that home-
schooling wasn't working either. In
fact, living with a hyperactive,
over-reactive, defiant, aggressive,
anxious daughter had become too
chaotic to manage. More . . .
Garrett was diagnosed with both
Oppositional Defiant Disorder and
General Anxiety Disorder. ... Within three days [on Feingold], his defiant/
oppositional behavior had improved. I remember my husband and me looking at each other after we told him
something that would usually cause a
meltdown, and Garrett just said
"okay" and went about his business.
We were dumbfounded. That had
never happened before! More . . .
dramatic characteristics were that she
frequently fell out of chairs ... and her
sensory dial seemed to be set at zero ... she broke her ankle and we didn't know ... she talked a-mile-a-minute but never
really said anything... She
had visual processing problems, constant diarrhea
(from infancy), spatial disorientation problems, short-term
memory problems, restless sleep, migraines, and dyslexia. [Her doctors] were in shock that all we did was change her diet ...More . . .
For most of his school years, Nathan slid through the
cracks. He was in a gifted program but performed well below what his teachers knew was his potential. [In 7th Grade] Nathan began taking Concerta, and while it helped reduce
the symptoms, we were continually having to increase his
dose. More . . .
The huge issue for him
was always the terrible migraines. After starting Feingold, Joe says, "I didn't have migraines any longer,
so missing out on 'treats' wasn't a sacrifice. It was great to feel better."
Moreover, as the additives were removed, Joe's
sensitivity to sound diminished. He
was able to sit through a service at
church, play the bass in a band, and
run the sound equipment, too!

Ali amazed her teacher as she was
finally able to sit during story time,
fully engaged. Family and friends
started noticing that she was bouncing
less. In addition, she became night-
time potty trained as a result of more
self-regulation and more self-control.
She stopped grinding her teeth at
night and started sleeping peacefully
throughout the night.
For the first time in her life, our
3-year-old was able to sit through a
full 25-minute TV show without
balancing herself at the tippy top of
the couch. She was still full of life and
energy, but it was much more manageable

If he's on the [Feingold] diet, Damian's an easygoing,
fun-loving, wonderful kid. If he's
eaten something that doesn't agree
with his system, he has meltdowns at
the drop of a hat, becomes aggressive,
and has problems figuring out how to
get dressed without help. I know there is no cure for Asperger's, but
with the Feingold Program, my son
fits in much better with his peers (and
has actually been calm enough for
long enough that he's starting to make
friends, too!) More . . .
The onset of Kanan's Tourette's Syndrome was rather slow and
progressive for the first year. But after that,
there was a major progression that led to full
body twitching and vocal yelping sounds. It
was scary and frustrating for Kanan and even
scarier and more frustrating for us since we
Three years later, we have found that
Stage One (Feingold) suits us best since Kanan is extremely sensitive to salicylates.
... unless Kanan is anxious or excited,
most people would never know he has TS.

He would have as many as 72 facial/eye tics while reading his
first grade story and could not say a sentence without 5-6 tics, so I
knew something was very wrong ...
I received notes almost daily from his
first grade teacher. His behaviors included talking excessively, repeating
phrases or words over and over, exhibiting inappropriate behaviors,
mocking, touching other children...Since he has been on the Feingold
diet he does great. The only times
we notice any type of tics are when
he is nervous, such as in a
church/school play .. More . . .
... Although none of the postings
mentioned that their children had
Down syndrome, the symptoms were
all the same. Why not give it a try?
Changing our food was not going to hurt him...
results were almost instant. He
calmed down, his speech improved,
and his attention in homeschool has improved.
...Now, when we
start school, instead of me dragging
Ray to his desk, we all yell "school
time" and dance our way to the school
room. I had no idea what a difference food can make!

By the time he was two, Andrew
had been in the hospital for asthma at
least 10 times, and the doctor prescribed steroids and Albuterol twice
daily through a nebulizer....He became
extremely aggressive and angry, and it
was obvious that the medications were
having terrible side effects, but we didn't know how to fix the asthma, so he
stayed on them. ...What a huge difference when we
could really follow the [Feingold] program! I
was able to take away ALL of his
asthma medication ...

He was 2 1/2 years old and a complete hellion. He had NEVER slept through the night, waking 3 or 4 times each night ... By day he had a horrible temper, threw major tantrums (sometimes lasting an hour), was destructive, and was completely unresponsive to any form of discipline. ... Those who knew Aiden "pre-Feingold," or as we like to call it "the old Aiden," are absolutely astounded at the difference in him. More . . .
Annalicia loved school but would cry because she was unable to do the work... Lisa took her for a battery of tests and the diagnosis was "ADHD Inattentive Type." ... When school started up in August, the teachers were amazed; they said she was a totally different child. Her teacher awarded her as "the most improved," both socially and academically, and her test scores rose from one to three grade levels from the end of the previous school year. More . . .
Our little Emily has had many nickames in her short life: Wild Child, Energizer Bunny, Bouncy Boo, etc. The parenting techniques that had been successful with my first child didn't work for Emily. ... After three weeks on Feingold, something remarkable happened.

Joshua was plagued with social and behavioral problems. He was asked to leave two private schools, rejected from several local day care facilities ...Towards the end of his fifth grade year he was placed in a children's psychiatric facility after he threatened to kill others and tried to hurt himself...
Joshua went a total of seven years being medicated 24 hours a day with three medications (totaling 9 pills a day ...) to a healthy diet and absolutely no medicine.

As a baby he was very physically active - was pulling up and standing in his crib by five months and walking by nine months, and once he took off there was no stopping him! He never spoke, though - not even "Mama" or "Dada".....his only means of communication seemed to be ear piercing shrieks... Even family refused to babysit him because he was so violent, and we were about at the end of our rope!

I complained about Laura's difficult behavior to anyone who would listen. When a friend handed me Dr. Feingold's book, I read it ... but I never recognized Laura's symptoms. She was dreamy and distractible, but not a bit hyperactive.
