These sugar cookies are my kids’ favorite.
I also think, but haven’t been lucky enough to catch him and ask….. they are Santa’s favorite too.
We enjoy this simple, easy recipe and use Feingold-approved sprinkles and food colorings to “fix them up real pretty and festive” for our holiday dessert table.
Angie’s Sugar Cookies
1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3-1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
sugar for outside of cookies
Cream butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla; add flour, baking powder and salt. Divide dough in half and form each ball into a roll. Cover rolls and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until firm. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place your sugar in a small bowl. Slice the dough into about 1/2 in. thick slices. Dunk in sugar on both sides and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until very lightly brown. Cool
Note: Using a table top mixer makes mixing the dough a lot easier
